I’m a composer in the early stages of my career based in Northern Ireland. I studied Music and Sound Design at Queens University Belfast from 2023 – 2026. My time at university really built the foundation for my interest in composition and exposed me to a variety of musical influences such as Mahler, Ravel, Feldman, Boulez, Messiaen, Hildegard Westerkamp and Trevor Wishart. These influences helped to shape my main compositional practice being contemporary classical, electroacoustic music and now film music.
I have a distinctive approach to composition. I use ordinary recordings like domestic sounds, human speech, field recordings and instrumental recordings to create completely new sound worlds and textures. In Sons Of Saturn, a short film directed by Ryan Warnock, I constructed a score almost entirely from piano recordings. I am very resourceful when it comes to repurposing found sounds.
One of my most recent compositions “Nicht Mehr” written for flute, cello and piano was performed by Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble in Belfast (June 2026), a piece that very much lives in the realm of advanced thought. The piece is full of complex rhythms as well as ominous textures and sonorities. I am currently working on new film music as well as new solo work for oboe and cello.
